Welcome to the Chewy Cafe, where kids learn cool stuff about cooking, preparing and choosing healthy food!
The Chewy Café is an exciting new learning tool based on educational standards so it actually fits right into many school's required curriculum in health and wellness, language arts, science, math and writing. Want a great recipe for a quick, healthy snack? Log on! Want some background info for a school report, or some ideas for teaching your child about the Top 20 Healthy Foods? Log on!
Chewy Café is designed to be used by families at home, by teachers and students within the classroom, during after school programs, or in organizations and agencies such as Boys & Girls Clubs. Each program contains entertaining and educational information that is easy, intriguing and fun to use.
The basic Chewy Café package your child will work with in school includes:

Eleven 20-minute programs on DVD with our wacky chef Mack and his assistants - some pretty smart kids who come to the Cafe to learn about food and nutrition but who often end up teaching Mack a think or two!

Full Curriculum for each 20-minute program, complete with worksheets, discussion ideas, information and more. Additional curriculum resources are include in this website. The Chewy Cafe curriculum is based on Arkansas state educational frameworks, but it also meets educational requirements in many states.

The Book of Chew - a mini cookbook detailing lots of healthy recipes, those used on the show as well as many others! The Book of Chew includes additional information on food, nutrition, geography and other pertinent food and nutrition topics. Each cookbook was edited by Diane Abrams, Director, Gourmet Books. All recipes were reviewed by nutritionists such as Carole Garner, MPH, RD, LD, Assistant Professor, UAMS College of Public Health and Robin Kline MS, RD, CCP of Savvy Food Communications.
